The Meaning of Christmas The Birth of Christ I m in my 60 s now and throughout the years of my life Christmas has become more and more commercial.  We have set aside the True Meaning of Christmas for all the gifts and sales that we can make.  Well this Christmas I want to talk briefly about the TRUE Meaning of Christmas. Christmas began with the Birth of Jesus Christ, not Santa Claus.  Most Biblical scholars will tell you that Christ was actually born in the Fall of the year not December but that s okay too. There are many websites out there explaining this and how we started celebrating Christmas on December 25th.  Regardless of when Christ was born that fact is that He was and that Christmas is a celebration of the Birth of our Savior Jesus Christ.  Somewhere along the way mankind decided to add Santa Claus to the mix and the giving of presents and then it eventually became big business.
